BASF makes DiversityInc list for third year in a row

BASF was recognized in April as one of the top 50 companies for diversity, the third consecutive year it has made the DiversityInc list.

BASF ranked 28th on the 2015 Top 50 Companies for Diversity list and 10th on the organization’s list of Top 10 Companies for Diversity Councils. The awards were presented at a New York City dinner attended by more than 900 senior executives from across the country.

The keynote speaker was Jesse Jackson, who has been calling on the tech industry to embrace more diversity as a business opportunity. DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti said BASF has a strong executive diversity council and has made great recruiting strides.

"Led by the diversity council and a team of professionals dedicated to making diversity and inclusion a key business priority, the company's efforts have been enhanced by its detailed diversity scorecard,” Visconti said.

BASF Chairman and CEO Hans Engel said the company’s ability to create chemistry for a sustainable future depends on diversity and inclusion.

"The different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives that our people bring to solving our customers' challenges are critical to driving innovation and growth,” Engel said. “They also make BASF a great place to work."
