Syngenta opens application portal for elite resistance fighter program

Fighters against resistance in weeds, diseases or nematodes are encouraged to apply for membership to an elite Syngenta program, the company announced Monday.

Syngenta is accepting applicants for The Resistance Fighter Leadership Program until Sept. 15. Agricultural advisors can submit an application by going to www.resistancefighter.com.

The most promising candidates will be well versed in resistance issues and have actively sought to minimize the impact of resistant weeds, insects, diseases and nematodes in agriculture. The program is in its seventh year and includes retail operation managers, county extension agents and agronomy directors. Members enrich their careers through travel, networking, exposure to industry research and experience sharing.

Syngenta product biology head David Laird is impressed with The Resistance Fighter Leadership Program members.

“They have a wealth of resistance-management knowledge, and Syngenta feels that facilitating chances for them to share this knowledge is important to the industry as a whole,” Laird said.
